Our Neighborhood

Kiss The Cook kitchen shop has a 20 year history in Wimberley, Texas, an artist hub with many creative authors, artists, musicians, thespians, and vocalist who call the Wimberley Valley “home”. Located just southwest of Austin, Texas, Kiss The Cook has been called the best kitchen store in the Hill Country. Opening on October 1st of 2001, the store astonished the local residents of Wimberley, many of whom are cooking enthusiasts. The store became a gathering place for local cooks and visiting tourists to talk about food, its preparation, and how to make cooking easier with all the equipment, tools, and gadgets that filled the shelves. Dean Chambers, who trained in Italy, a chef himself, manages the store.

Kiss The Cook stocks its shelves with everything you need for the kitchen: small appliances, cookware, cutlery, linens, every tool and gadget imaginable, as well as specialty food. Brenda (Bren) Isgitt, who has owned and oversees the store absolutely loves what her store does and is, and the community it offers the general public. Both her and Chef Dean’s enthusiasm are infectious. Her employees also love to cook and are ready to help any customer find what they need. There is no greater praise than hearing her customers say, “I love this store!”

We discovered this coffee at Kiss The Cook vacationing in Wimberley, TX and it has become one of our favorite places to shop and get coffee. When we can’t buy it in person they ship. This coffee is so flavorful and definitely my go to along with German Chocolate. You can buy this whole bean or ground. Everyone is always so nice and helpful and we absolutely adore the cute shop and all their products.

I live in Dallas, Texas and I love your store! Of all the large places in the metroplex I could shop, I would pick your store anyday! I can hardly wait to come back. I cannot say enough great things about your store and the personal interest that you show each of your customers!

We promise to go that "extra mile" to make you feel good about the products we sell, and the time you spend in our store. Our greatest joy is hearing people say, "I love this store!"

This one stop kitchen shop has enough to keep both the novice and gourmet cook nice and full.

Kiss the Cook is a hidden world of culinary wonders in downtown Wimberley, right on the Square. You must visit this store, even if you are not a cook, just to experience all there is to use in the kitchen. They have great tools, neat gadgets, great stories, and even better customer service. They can help you put together an awesome gift, and even find something you can’t live without. The prices are very reasonable too.

If you are a serious foodie who loves cooking at home, this is where the spatula meets the skillet. Whatever you need to enhance your cooking skills is right here in Wimberley at Kiss the Cook.
— Christine A., Austin
I’m not sure who enjoyed my wedding registry experience more-me for the ease of finding everything I wanted under one roof or my guest who I know walked out your doors with more than a few items on their own lists. Thanks for making a potentially stressful time such fun.
— Ashley K., Wimberley
We drove over to Wimberley specifically to visit your store after seeing it in Southern Living. So many times magazines actually over-sell their subjects and the real thing is nothing like what we read about, but in the case of Kiss the Cook the writer barely scratched the surface of all that’s delightful here. Pages and pages could be filled. We now have a store-full of reasons to return to Wimberley.
— Michael and Gloria H., Houston
Every time I walk in your store I take a deep breath of the coffee-scented air and feel my stress level drop. You are my favorite local escape.
— Kay E., Wimberley
I consider myself a connoisseur of kitchen stores and this is one of the finest I’ve seen. L.A., Santa Fe or Boston should be so lucky.
